ENGLISH: Artivive as the first Austrian start-up at prestigious accelerator program Berkeley SkyDeck

Since 2017, the Viennese start-up Artivive has enriched the art world with its innovative augmented reality tool for museums and artists. Starting January 2019, Artivive will be the first Austrian startup ever to join the renowned Berkeley SkyDeck accelerator program. Meanwhile, Artivive is also intensifying its existing partnership with the Romanian software developer, Reea.net.

First start-up from Austria in the SkyDeck program
The Berkeley SkyDeck program is one of the top ten accelerator programs in the world and has already helped start-ups such as the e-scooter sharing service, Lime, to forge an international breakthrough. Artivive was chosen out of 600 applications and is the first start-up from Austria to participate in the six-month SkyDeck Cohort program. In addition, Artivive will receive a low six-digit investment through the Berkeley SkyDeck program. Co-founder Sergiu Ardelean will build the Artivive office in Berkeley for the duration of the program: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to position Artivive in the US market with valuable strategic support and a great network and coaching in the context of the Berkeley Skydeck program."

Reea.net as a strong partner
Meanwhile, Artivive is expanding its already existing collaboration with Reea.net, one of the largest software development companies in Romania with more than 250 developers. Reea’s owner and CEO, Dan Masca, joins Artivive as an investor: "Over the past 18 years, we've helped many startups from the US to deliver their solutions. We are excited to support Artivive in developing the product for the US market." says Masca. "With Dan Masca, we've got a strong partner on board who can help us develop our platform. The know-how and the flexible team structure of Reea.net allow us an agile implementation," explains Ardelean.

About Artivive
The augmented reality platform, Artivive, was founded in 2017 by Sergiu Ardelean and Codin Popescu in Vienna and consists of a team of 25 employees, of which half are women, in Vienna, Beijing and Tel Aviv and sales partners in Mexico and Mongolia. Artivive is reacting to the trend of digitization of content in museums and exhibition areas. "We want to open up a new dimension of art with our tool, and give artists and museums the opportunity to combine analogue and digital art. The areas of application are diverse" said the founders of Artivive, Ardelean and Popescu. To experience the digitally enhanced works of art, all you have to do is load the Artivive app onto your smartphone, or tablet and point it at the Artivive-enhanced artwork.

Artivive has already expanded exhibitions in cultural spaces, such as the Albertina in Vienna, Belvedere in Vienna, Shanghai Himalayas Museum, Chengdu Design Week, Vienna Design Week and viennacontemporary. More than 5500 artists worldwide use the tool for their artistic work. The Artivive app is available for free from Google Play and Apple App Store.
